The 988 Mental Health Lifeline is designated as a three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline that launched in late summer of 2022. The 988 Mental Health Lifeline operates 24/7 and offers services for mental health crisis calls. Operators are licensed and certified health crisis specialists who answer calls, connect to and dispatch local services and mobile crisis teams. Mobile Crisis teams are operated by all CCBHCs in OK.
NorthCare’s Mobile Crisis and Outreach Team is called Champions and it operates 24/7 and offers community-based intervention to individuals in need wherever they are; including at home, work, or anywhere else in the community where the person is experiencing a crisis. Team ensures supports are available to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), children and youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED), and those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (COD).
Champions often partners with law enforcement efforts to provide specialized care to community members in need. CHAMPIONS Team responds to 988 calls as well as assists first responders seeking co-response, consultation, and/or behavioral health supports.
