NorthCare provides accessible co-occurring disorder capable services for substance use disorders and/or psychiatric emergencies for adults, children, and families in Oklahoma and Logan Counties. These services are available 24-hours/day, seven days per week.
NorthCare develops a crisis plan with each person receiving services. This includes providing information on the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 988, local hotlines, mobile crisis, and stabilization services.
NorthCare’s Emergency services are available at all locations during traditional business hours by telephone and walk-in Mondays through Friday. After normal business hours, NorthCare maintains extended hours in Oklahoma and Logan Counties including a 24/7 site-based crisis site and NorthCare’s 24/7 on-call mobile crisis team. Mental health professionals are available.
NorthCare’s Mobile Crisis Team operates 24/7 hours daily, 365 days per year.
Mobile Crisis Teams offer community-based crisis intervention to individuals or families in need wherever they are. This can include home, work, school or anywhere else in the community where the person is experiencing a crisis. The team ensures support is available to all individuals in crisis.
We also respond to
- Direct iPad calls from Law Enforcement and other providers in Oklahoma and Logan Counties.
These designated locations provide intensive short-term stabilization for individuals experiencing a behavioral health emergency. This intervention involves a chair (not bed) based model and the stays average under 24 hours. Our goal is to divert the individuals from crisis interventions traditionally presented in the emergency room, jail or inpatient psychiatric, when appropriate. This includes:
- Referral to appropriate level of care
- Temporary crisis stabilization/intervention

NorthCare provides referrals to the appropriate level of care and resources to address gaps in social determinants to all individuals receiving crisis services. NorthCare provides the following postvention services:
- Referrals at time of disposition to the appropriate levels of care and other needs.
- Follow-up within one week to all individuals receiving crisis services.
- At least one contact at 24/48/72 hours after intervention with the Mobile or Site-Based Crisis Teams. Further follow-up, resources, engagement and linking to services if indicated by the consumer during the contact.
- Follow-up with higher levels of care referrals by the NorthCare Intensive Transition Team to coordinate discharge care/direction/planning.
The 988 Mental Health Lifeline is designated as a three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline that launched in late summer of 2022. The 988 Mental Health Lifeline operates 24/7 and offers services for mental health crisis calls. Operators are licensed and certified health crisis specialists who answer calls, connect to and dispatch local services and mobile crisis teams. Mobile Crisis teams are operated by all CCBHCs in OK.
